At a separation of 45 Kms from Kalpetta, 28 kms from Irupu Falls and 22 kms from Mananthavady, Thirunelly Temple is situated in an excellent valley underneath Brahmagiri slope extend near Kerala - Karnataka visitor (close Kutta, near Nagarhole National Park). This 300 years of age sanctuary is encompassed by Kambamala, Karimala and Varadiga slopes. Ruler Vishnu is the fundamental divinity at this sanctuary. This sanctuary is a fine example of traditional Kerala sanctuary engineering. Around 30 rock sections and stone cleared floor makes the sanctuary a building wonder. Master Ganapathy, Hanuman, Lord Shiva, Bhadrakali are additionally revered at this sanctuary. Papanasini, the heavenly mountain spring streams close-by. Panchatheertha, a lake where five streams used to meet previously, is situated on the southern side of the sanctuary. A little base is found in the focal point of the lake on which a stone piece with impression of Lord Vishnu is conveyed.
