Tiananmen Located at the focal point of Beijing City and the midpoint of Chang'an Avenue is the striking Tiananmen Square,Tiananmen Square is a sweeping city square in the point of convergence of Beijing, China, named after the Tiananmen ("Gate of Heavenly Peace") arranged to its north, segregating it from the Forbidden City. The square contains the Monument to the People's Heroes, the Great Hall of the People, the National Museum of China, and the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong. Mao Zedong reported the building up of the People's Republic of China in the square on October 1, 1949; the celebration of this event is still seen there. At the north end of the Square is Tiananmen Tower. At first inherent 1417 amid the Ming Dynasty (1368 A.D.- 1644 A.D.), the Square was the front entryway of the Forbidden City. Tiananmen Square is inside the principle ten greatest city squares on the planet. It has remarkable social immensity as it was the site of a couple of basic events in Chinese history.
